About Interpay

Interpay builds the retail payment software that banks and merchants across Saudi Arabia depend on: POS and SoftPOS acceptance, e-commerce gateways, payment switching and merchant services. Our products handle cardholder data under SAMA regulation and PCI security standards, and they run around the clock.


The role

In a payment system, a defect that reaches production can misroute funds, expose cardholder data or breach regulatory obligations, so QA at Interpay is a frontline function. As QA Engineer, you'll own the quality of our mobile apps, backend services and payment platform, combining manual and automated testing across functional, regression, security and performance work, and supporting scheme and regulatory certification. You'll report to the DevOps Manager.


What you'll do

Test design and manual testing

  • Test planning: design and run test plans, cases and data for components, integrated systems and end-to-end payment journeys
  • Requirements validation: review stories and specifications for testability, and confirm delivery matches them
  • Exploratory testing: structured exploratory and usability testing across mobile apps, merchant portals and admin interfaces
  • Negative and boundary testing: failure paths, timeouts, partial failures and reversals on transaction flows
  • Defect management: reproduce, prioritise and document defects clearly, help developers reproduce them, and verify fixes
  • Release quality: run regression cycles and give an evidence-based go/no-go assessment before each release

Test automation

  • API and backend suites with Postman/Newman and REST Assured
  • Mobile coverage for Flutter apps with the integration_test framework
  • Web UI suites with Selenium
  • Performance, load and stress tests with Apache JMeter, reporting throughput, latency and breaking points
  • Suites running continuously in CI/CD, managed in Azure Test Plans with traceability from requirement to test to defect
  • Growing coverage on high-risk, high-frequency transaction paths, and keeping suites reliable and free of flaky tests

Payments and certification testing

  • ISO 8583 message-level testing with host and terminal simulators
  • EMV test scripts and test card sets across chip, contactless and magnetic stripe
  • 3-D Secure and e-commerce flows, including authentication, challenge and frictionless journeys
  • Reconciliation, settlement and clearing file validation
  • Visa, Mastercard, mada and SAMA certification support: test environments, certification scripts and evidence

Security and compliance testing

  • Confirm that card numbers, PIN data, keys and credentials never appear in logs
  • Verify masking, truncation, encryption and tokenisation across interfaces and outputs
  • Produce testing evidence for PCI DSS, PCI Secure SLC and internal audit
  • Support penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, and verify remediation


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years in software QA, covering both manual and automated testing
  • Writing test plans, test cases and test data from requirements and specifications
  • Hands-on API testing with Postman/Newman and REST Assured
  • Web UI automation with Selenium
  • Performance, load and stress testing with Apache JMeter, including interpreting and reporting results
  • Mobile app testing, and the Flutter integration_test framework (or the ability to pick it up quickly)
  • Azure Test Plans, or a similar tool such as Jira with Zephyr or XRay, or TestRail
  • SQL for preparing test data and verifying results
  • Agile delivery and testing within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Precise, reproducible defect reporting
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Willing and eligible to work on-site in Riyadh


Nice to have

  • Testing payment, fintech or banking systems, especially POS, SoftPOS, switching or e-commerce
  • ISO 8583 message structures and host or terminal simulators
  • EMV test card sets, test scripts and contactless scenarios
  • Supporting Visa, Mastercard, mada or SAMA certification
  • 3-D Secure and e-commerce authentication testing
  • PCI DSS testing and evidence requirements
  • Security testing tools, the OWASP Top 10 and OWASP MASVS

Where and when

Full-time, on-site at our Riyadh office, with regular hands-on use of payment terminals, card readers, test cards and mobile devices. Occasional work outside standard hours may be needed for release windows and certification testing.
